Labradors or Retrievers-What’s the difference?

Labradors and Retrievers look amazingly alike-so what’s so different about them? Both breeds are equally friendly, so they’re both easy to train. The difference is their coat length and color. Labradors have darker coat colors, for example, black, brown, dark golden, and red while Golden retrievers only have shades of gold.

There are two main breeds of Labradors: English Labrador and the American Labrador. The English Labrador is more heavily built while the American Labrador is taller.

Labradors have shorter coats then Golden Retrievers. However, both breeds shed regularly and still need weekly brushing. Both breeds also have different barking levels. Labradors are more vocal and Goldens only bark when necessary.

Both Breeds are good with other dogs with some or little supervision. They also have about the same life expectancy. (10-12 yrs.) Both breeds are about the same size as well.
